Corey Kirkendoll
Corey L. Kirkendoll is the President and CEO of 5K Technical Services, a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering award-winning IT solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in North Texas. With over 30 years of experience in the Information Services & Technology sector, Corey has held key roles at top tech companies including IBM, Cisco Systems, Dell, EMC, and VMware.
Recognized as an expert in IT and Cybersecurity, Corey is known for his process-driven leadership and dedication to security and compliance. His efforts have contributed to the growth of his own MSP and others nationwide. Recently, he was appointed Vice Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council, highlighting his thought leadership in AI.
Corey is also an active speaker, published author, and contributor to several industry boards and councils. He has served as Chair of the CompTIA Managed Services Executive Council, and held roles with the National Society of IT Service Providers, ASCII Advisory Board, ConnectWise Security Partner Advisory Board, and CompTIA ISAO MSP Champions Group. He also contributes to the National Convergence Technology Center’s Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) and CompTIA’s Advancing Diversity in Tech Executive Committee.
His additional board roles include the Per Scholas Dallas Advisory Board, The Channel Company XChange Advisory Board, and DEI Board for The Channel Company. Corey is also a member of the Jarvis Christian University Faculty-Employer Advisory Committee, where he serves as an Adjunct Professor, known for his inclusive and student-focused teaching approach.
Under Corey’s leadership, 5K Technical Services has received numerous industry awards including the 2022 CompTIA Community Leadership Award, CRN Inclusive Leadership Award, ChannelPro 2021 Peer of the Year, and placements on the CRN MSP 500, Tech Elite 250, and NextGen 250 lists. The company has also been honored on the Dallas Business Journal’s Top North Texas Family-Owned and Black Business awards list.
A frequent contributor and influencer in the IT channel, Corey has been recognized by CompTIA, the ChannelPro Network, and was recently added as a co-host on the MSPUnplugged Podcast.
Corey’s credentials include Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Cyber Security Architect (CCSA). He holds a bachelor’s degree and dual MBAs in Information Technology Management and Conflict Resolution Management from Jones International University. He is also a graduate of the SBA Emerging Leaders and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programs.
Beyond his professional achievements, Corey enjoys spending time with his children—Corey Jr., Miles, and Sidney. A cherished memory includes winning a national championship in Special Olympics Flag Football with his son Miles, playing on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice field at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
